Magdalena Drahusz

Magdalena Drahusz – finally herself. A mother of four, every day multifunctional like life itself, balancing home, words, and melody. She sings Polish traditions with the ensemble Dzikie Jagody and shares them with her family ensemble, Inisowiacy. Previously, she founded the Circle of Magical White Song, which carried Polish melodies on an Irish wind. Close to nature – she weaves wreaths, baskets, and other forms from what the earth, fire, and the moment provide. Sometimes she cuts trees from paper, inviting others to discover the beauty of simple cuts. In her texts, particularly in "Portraits of Emigration," she touches upon the world of Polish traditional songs, uncovering their connections to simple life, both past and present – for herself and for the reader, searching within them for memory, rootedness, and the silence between the words. She enjoys playing with words and melody, writing songs and stories not only for children, singing poetry and well-known songs with a new twist, seeking joy and peace within them.
