We are meeting today with Jolanta Oliwiak, director of the Altogether school, which has been operating in Ireland for fifteen years.

We will begin our conversation with the word „love” – the guiding theme of the second edition Portraits of Emigration.

Kasia Mikolajczyk: Jola, when you think of the word „love”,What appears first?

Jolanta OliwiakLove is associated with warmth, kindness, and inner peace for me. It's an energy that gives me strength every day. I try to bring it into every activity, because thanks to it, life becomes lighter, and good people appear around.

Thank you for that vote. So let's move on to the main topic of our meeting and talk about your school. Altogether recently celebrated its fifteenth anniversary. What touches you most when you think back to the beginnings?

Kasia Mikolajczyk

Educated as a teacher. For several years she was involved in natural medicine combining TCM Dietetics, Tree Hand Reflexology and Aromatherapy - Elixirs to Health. She hosts the Radio Censorship programme „Warm Water Health Talks” inviting people involved in promoting healthy lifestyles. She co-hosts the programme „Before the coffee gets cold”, and conducts interviews. Under the auspices of RC, she organises meetings, workshops and charity events. She collaborated with „Nasza Gazeta”, describing the „Oil World”. She is the originator of the project on bilingualism for Poles living in Ireland „I have the power” organised by RC. Her mission in life, besides educating people to live healthy, is to promote activities for the Polish community in Ireland. Since 2025 she has been editor-in-chief of the quarterly magazine „Portraits of Emigration”, for which she also writes articles and interviews. She returned to her teaching job, teaching in two Polish schools in Dublin. A lover of travel, the surrounding countryside, food, good music and film.
