7 December 2025 Portraits of Emigration they saw the light of day for the first time. In Dublin, in the warm, elegant, and Christmassy December atmosphere of the Gresham Hotel's ballroom, something more than just another premiere happened. It was hard to shake the feeling that we were witnessing a moment that would go down in the annals of Polish diaspora history. Just six months earlier, on June 7th, during the first Symposium of Polish Women in Ireland, the idea for a newspaper was born. The idea had now materialised – the world had seen a quarterly publication that spoke with the voice of Poles abroad.
Among the distinguished guests was Mr Artur Michalski, Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Republic of Poland in Ireland, whose speech, full of reflection and appreciation, gave the event a unique tone. The founders of CKU – Centre for Counselling and Therapy, Mariola Mastek and Barbara Ożga, expressed their gratitude in their speeches to the team who dared to tell the story of emigration in a new, fresh way…
